I WANTED TO PLAY By: William DeRoche ... Shoreview, MN
After 9/11 I thought they wanted to play I rejoined the Corps so I could play I trained my whole life so I could play I traveled far away so I could play I brought all my toys and friends with so I could play When the first IED went off they ran away I thought they wanted to play Now I sit here broken from an IED blast, and wonder if I will ever play again
Then I remember Marines never quit they just train and, wait for the next opportunity to play
